About the Project
This project focuses on expanding the habitat of the flagship species, the Great Green Macaw at Cielo Ranch Reserve by planting Almond trees, their primary nesting and food source. Building on the success of our initial reforestation effort in 2007, which saw the return of these magnificent birds to our forests. Our goal is to further support their population by ensuring the
availability of their critical habitat needs.
Goals
• To plant Almond trees in designated areas within Cielo Ranch Reserve, carefully chosen to optimize the growth of the trees and accessibility for the Great Green Macaws.
• To enhance the biodiversity of the reserve, supporting not only the Great Green Macaw but also other species that benefit from a rich diverse ecosystem.
• To monitor the impact of these plantings on the local population, contributing valuable data to avian conservation efforts.
